release.garden is operated by Waysider LLC ("Waysider," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect and what we do with it.
Information we collect
When you use release.garden, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your email address.
- Project and release information, including files, release notes, and other content you upload.
- Usage information, such as pages visited, referrers, browser and device information, and actions taken within release.garden.
- Release and download statistics, such as how often releases are published, artifact sizes, downloads, referrers, and user agents.
- Payment information when you purchase a paid service. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store your full payment card details.
- Communications you send us, such as support or abuse reports.
Information you publish through a public project, including its releases and files, is intentionally public.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- provide and operate release.garden;
- authenticate users and protect accounts;
- process payments;
- deliver software releases and measure downloads;
- understand how release.garden is used and improve the service;
- prevent abuse and maintain the security and reliability of the service; and
- provide support and communicate with you about the service.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Analytics
We use analytics to understand how people use our website and product. This includes information such as pages visited, referrers, browser and device information, and actions taken within release.garden.
We do not use analytics cookies.
We also collect our own statistics about software releases and downloads so we can operate the service and provide useful information to publishers.
Release analytics include request counts, file and release details, coarse geography when available, browser information, and the referring site. We keep individual request records for up to 90 days. Daily totals remain while a project exists and for up to 90 days after it is deleted. We do not store full IP addresses or unique visitor identifiers in these release analytics.
Service providers
We use third-party providers for services such as hosting, storage, email delivery, payments, monitoring, and analytics. These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.
We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect release.garden, our users, or others from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate release.garden, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain the security of the service.
When you delete your account, your projects and releases are also deleted. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups or where we are required or permitted to retain it for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or operational purposes.
Your choices
You can update your account information or delete your account through release.garden.
You can also contact us to ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information associated with your account.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we hold. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Children
release.garden is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as release.garden changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
